I have bad axle wrap...how to fix?

Ok, put a 6" skyjacker system on my 2001 F150 supercrew and i have a crap load of rear axle wrap.....bad enough that it caved in the side of my new rancho rxs9000 shocks! What is the best fix? New rear springs or does someone make ladder bars for the F150? I know fabtech makes them for the Superduty, but not for the F150. HELP!

You can probably get traction bars for your truck or for $600 less install you could get new leafs from deaver, national, or atlas to name a few. With the springs you would get more travle out of them as well and vitually eliminate you axel wrap problem.

1B,

Did you get the kit with blocks to raise the rear axle? Or did you get the kit with new springs. Adding blocks instead of using new springs will casue axle hop like you have.

A ladder bar will cure the problem for sure.
you will lose ground clearance but that is the trade.

When I purchased the kit from The Auto Barn in grand rapids, michigan...I was told the kit had add-a-leafs. When it was on, it had blocks. Not only that, but my two front tires were trashed within 500 miles because they didn't do a front end allinement, nor did they tell me that it wasn't included in the installation. I've argued with them about it and i'm stuck forking the cash out for two new ones. Needless to say, I will never go back. You would think that they would take care of someone who spends $5500 getting a kit and gears installed and purchased from them, but I guess not.

Also, has anyone noticed the amount of yoke hanging off behind the transfercase on the driveshaft after the lift? I have alot of yoke exposed and tranny fluid everywhere under my body. Guess I'll have to get the axle extended too now....uggg.
