Ok guys got the 3" PA body lift install completed over the holiday weekend.
Was a fairly straight forward install except for the instruction sheets that were made off from an old P.O.S. copying machine and very hard to interpert pics.
We spent some extra time Sun. (day 2) modifing the tow hooks to come thru the front valance and still weld up to the grille guard and raising the under frame reciver to make it look better. Mon. (day 3) pressure washing newly exposed frame parts and spray painting newly exposed rusty parts. Gap guards could have been factory cut to fit better but with the help of some phillips head self tappers, sissors, and some fender washers they are on and not going anywhere......and serve there intended purpose relatively well. I dont particularly care for the way my WMS velocity tube fits up with the new angles under the hood so I have ordered a new coupler for it.
I have a roll of film at the devoloper now and will get them posted here tommorow evening.
Im actually suprised by how natural the 33's look on there with now having 7" of lift. Maybe when its tire time again I can justify a gear swap and go for the 35's.
Thanks to all who awncered so many of my stupid questions (RTroha)
leading up to my taking this plunge! Any info I can provide anyone I will be happy to do so......Gordon
OH>>>>> Anyone with a body lift have an issue of the trans shift linkage being in a bit of a bind making the auto shifter in the cab stiffer? Just curious. Hopefully it will hold up.
