Looking for a 4x4 and have some questoins

Well...I just got rid of my 03 Cobra and am now looking for a used 99-01 F-150 extended cab 4X4 with the 5.4.

My problem is...I can go all day and tell you what to look and look out for when buying Mustangs (I've had 4), but this is going to be my first experiance with a truck.

The one's I'm looking at generally have 60K to 90K miles on them. What kind of longevity does the 5.4 have? I know with the 5.0 (again, Mustang here) I had no problems getting over 200K out of a 100% stock motor before I decided to do a motor swap. So...how durable (milage) are the 5.4s?

What should I be looking for, or what should be closely inspected and what are known issues that should be looked at when it comes to these trucks.

Thanks for any help you guys may be able to give.

Oh, and when I do buy this truck, the only thing I am "planning" on is like a three inch body lift and new wheels and tires (33s if they will fit?)

Thanks again!
Chris

PS: I just realized I probably posted this in the wrong form....sorry....

I don't know about how long 5.4 lasts milage wise, but i do know that a 4X4 with a 3 inch body lift easily fits 33's and even 35's with a litle torsion bar cranking. Just my .02 cents

Check the Engines section and there are quite a few people that have gone 200K. Also 33's will fit a stock truck with no other changes. I have had two F-150's and have never had to do more than change the fluids and filters.

Cool...I'll check out the engine section too. I really like this 99 I found, but like I said, the 98K on the 5.4 just has me a bit leery.

Thanks
