Screwed by my Screw!!!

I know that in the past there has been multible post for my problem. The poping clunk sound in steering column on my 2001 4x4 Super Crew. The only problem is no one ever seems to post what the problem turned out to be!! I'm at wits end with this thing. I went to the local Ford dealer ship, who prides themselves on the sell of trucks, and asked if they knew what the problem was. 4 different mechanics, the service tech and two parts guys looked at me like I was from Mars. However they had that look in the eye like "Hey we have another Fish!!" I don't mind haveing the truck looked at and paying for service but I don't want to pay for something that does not need to be fixed. Please if anyone has had this problem is it A. The Idler Arm B. Pitman Arm C. Lower steering shaft. These are the only parts that have not been replaced. New ball joints, upper and lower have already been installed along with the tie rods. These parts did not show any wear but replaced anyway. Thanks in advance and again any help at all would be most appreciated.

I'm making an apointment at the dealer to have them look at it. Not only are they going to fix the front end but also check the slip yoke coming off the transfer case for a leak. The fluid is somehow (not leaking from the seal on the rear of transfer case) but leaking around the nut that holds the yoke on? I'm at the point to punt on first down anymore. The truck is great when running right but anymore those days are far and few between. I just got it back last month from the garage after having the coil packs replaced. Plus the ball joint job and the body shop charge for fixing the minor rust on the inside of the lower doors. Hell I'm gonna find me an old Yugo and cut the hatch off for a truck.

I don't know about a clunk from the steering column, but I had one coming from the front left of my front end and you could feel it in the steering wheel. Come to find out it was just the upper shock bushing was wore out. Might want to grab your shock and see if you can twist it.
