FX4 Higher than 4X4??

I have a 2003 King Ranch SC and I pulled up next to a stock FX4 SC and it was taller than my truck. What is the difference between a normal 4x4 and the FX4 package. Is it just the rancho shocks and skid plates?

I have a 98 F150 4x4 with the offroad package. Ive always noticed that when i'm next to something similar, the other truck seems taller from inside the cab, but outside they're the same. My dad has an '00 just like mine, and his seems taller when im in mine, but on the outside theyre the same

I'll agree with spray, but add one thing. I've noticed that trucks with the 5.4 liter motor sit a bit higher than those with the 4.6. (I actually proved this out at a dealer by parking identical (except for engine) 2002 short box regular cab trucks side by side. Part of that difference is due to different rear ends, springs, payload rating, etc. As for the FX4 package, it does not ride any higher than a regular 4x4 - unless you happen to compare it to a strippo XK with the small tires.

Talking lift

Hey kingranch.......put a 6'' Fabtech and 35''s on your truck then you wont have to worry about those stock trucks sittin higher then you

Im the same way......everytime I see a truck bigger then mine I get mad But hey...theres always gonna be something bigger right?

But of course I live in Michigan with the damn lift laws so my truck cant be bigger even if I wanted it to be. Im happy though

I know its a truck, but is my ride going to go to crap when I lift it? I hate to be beat when I am riding in a truck.

No your ride will stay the same depending on what kind of shock and tire you go with. I just have the Fabtech shocks the 6'' kit came with and SSRs and my truck rides alright but it would ride better if I had a different tire.. Super swamper arnt the best riding tire.
