Shackle/Hanger drop means that both ends of the rear leaf spings have been moved upward to facilitate the rear end getting lower. The quickest way to drop the rear is with 2" lowering shackles which are longer than the stock ones. I believe that JLP even makes these in a 3" size.

The hanger is what the leaf spring is mounted to near the cab side of your frame. Swapping these out will allow you to do the same thing with the front of the leaf spring that you can easily do in the rear. BUT...changing the hangers is not as easy as changing the shackles...MUCH MORE WORK involved.

Mine can be seen here with the hanger/shackle drop:

4 6 drop

I have a 1998 With a 4" 6" Drop and it puts that truck about 1.5" from the tires. Looks really nice!!

This is my first post here and I just want to say that I love the drop your truck has, the drop makes it look awesome

But, how's the ride quality? I know the 3''/4'' drop has really good ride quality, but I always wounder about the ride quality of a 4'' / 6'' drop!
