Question Need some quick advice for the PA 3" lift installation!!!

Hello, I started this weekend with the installation of the 3" PA Body lift kit .

I'm following the instructions, from PA, but when I loose the bolt from the steering joit under the dash, I can not take it out by sliding it. PA said that I have to slide it down removing it from the steering wheel shaft.

PA exactly said:
"Loosen Bolt from the steering u-joint under the dash, slide u-joint down to remove from the steering wheel shaft"

The issue is that I loose the bolt, the u-joint is loose but it can not slide down for remotion.

I suppose that the u-joint must be free in order to slide down as soon I lift the body. Yes or No?

I will lift the body tomorrow and I need to be sure not to damage something.

Thanks.

The bottom portion of the shaft should slide down toward the floor. After you remove the bolt you should be able to push the bottom portion of the shaft down. If your truck is a couple of years old it may have some corosion on the shaft and be sticking. Try spraying a little penetrating oil on it. Mine slid down pretty easily, but my truck was only about a year and a half old when I installed mine.

help!!!

Ok I took out completely the only bolt in the u-joint (inside the cabin, under the dash). I sprayed some penetrant but it still the same , something is holding it and the shaft can not move down, it only moves half an inch.

I continued with the process and when I lifted with the jack at the driver side the shaft moves, but not down UP!!! it is moving out from the bottom part and it still stick to the steering.

That's the only screw I need to loose? If I keep towing the cab the shaft will be out but from the bottom part, and that's what I don't want. Any options???

thanks
