Question Powersteering pump versions

Does anyone know why the F150 powersteering pumps are seperated into two versions as follows, 97-01 and 02-03?

I want to get an 03' salvage yard pump with pulley and put it on my 99'. Does anyone know if it will bolt up correctly?

............also, I know that AGR makes a "superpump" for pre-97' models, but does anyone make a "superpump" for 97'-03' models? Thanks for any info.

Tried to delete thread but can not. Can not find a "superpump" for the late model F150. However, the local part store has new pumps with lifetime warranties for $54 bucks. I also got both a new highpressure and return lines. Total cost with tax is less than $100. When I take my stock pump into the store this Saturday, they are going to put my pulley on the new pump.

Did you ever find out what the difference was between the two pumps?

No. After asking several people about it, only one salvage yard responded. They only stated that, the 02-03 pumps will not "fit" my 99'. Makes no sense to me. I was hoping that the 03' version may have had the hydralic pressure level increased. However, the new auto chain store pumps cost the same or LESS than a salvage yard pump and come with a lifetime warranty. I will post the results of the install in my steering obsession thread.
