whats the down fall of lifting?

when you guys lift your trucks. and with big tires, does it effect the speed, turning, tippy, etc? i have a 98 F150 4x4 4.6L supercab
short bed with a leer canopy very heavy. mods are hypertech programmer. 3"single exhaust all the way with a flow pro v-force muffler. all i want is a 3" lift with big tires. besides the lift and tires what else needs to be done so the truck dont get messed up
do i have to install sway bars? struts? i want to start low cost first but the right way. help me guys.

click here to view my baby. (let me know if pics show up)

Talking lift

You could add a 3'' Body lift with 35s Thats pretty low cost depending on which kind of tires you choose.

The only thing lifts are really hard on is like ball joints, tie rod ends you know front end stuff, but thats not really from the lift.... its from the tires...bigger the tires more things it tears up But hey your truck will look bas azz right....thats all that matters

HOW MUCH IS A LIFT COST?

WHAT IS THE RANGE ON A LIFT COST? WHAT IS BETTER A BODY LIFT OR LIFTING THE SUSPENSION? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
ALL I WANT IS A 3" LIFT AND TIRES TO FILL IN THE GAPS. BIG ENOUGH BUT NOT MONSTERS. CAN IT BE POSSIBLE TO FIT 31'S OR 32'S OR 35'S ON A STOCK 16X7 RIMS?
GO TO GALLERIES TO VIEW MY PICS (divewithtom)

Well a 6'' Fabtech suspension lift is gonna cost you $1,450 shipped.
A body lift is around $140 bucks

If you only want 3'' of lift i'd go with the body lift its alot cheeper
and you can put 33s on your stock rims....but I have seen people on here with 35s on there stock wheels too So it all depends on what you like and how much money you have

If all you want is 3", a body lift is your only option. There are no 3" suspension lifts out there that I know of. Minimum is 4". Big picture it really just comes down to money and what you have to spend. Body lifts are cheaper but you get what you pay for. I did the 4" Rancho and could not believe the difference in performance and handling from the lift. YES, it improved...It did not get worse. You wouldn't think the ride would change or anything since I didn't change the springs or the torsion bars but overall what a huge improvement. The whole truck in all driving conditions just feels more solid, and stable. Actually kind of hard to explain. Sure the great shocks had some effect but I would take a wild guess and say the improved rigidity from the quality lift components stabilized the front end and tightend up where the factory suspension was lacking. Like I said, that's just a shot in the dark though. Sounds good anyways. Don't think you would get those results from a body lift. As for down sides, you'll probably be like me a just end up wishing you would have gone bigger. Since I already have the 4" suspension, I'm debating a 3" body lift and 36" Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips. But, lift leads to bigger tires, which leads to lower gears, which brings us all the way back around to money!!!
