difference of 2wd/4wd heights?
difference of 2wd/4wd heights?
I've read all over about how the 4wd 97-2003 F-150s are about 2 inches higher than the same 2WDs. I was wondering exactly what part of the suspension makes this difference?
The front suspensions are completely different. The 4x2's use a-arms and coils springs while the 4x4's use a-arms and torsion bars. The rear suspension is the same design on both but the 4x4's have 2 inch lift block in the rear. The overall height difference is probably closer to 3 inches different between the two.
My neighbor has a 2wd regular cab long bed that is taller than my 4x4 Screw. I suspect he has about a 6" lift, but I've never talked with him. I would take a picture, but last week, I noticed a new 2wd Superduty instead of the F-150. The big red truck may be gone.
