rattle in rear

Hi All,

I have a 99 f150 XLT 4x4 and have been noticing the rear end rattling everytime I go over a bump. I sounds a bit dull, not like a metal on metal rattle.

I'm not too familar with the internals of the axle but could the axle be loose?? Do the shocks need to be replaced? it have about 68k on it..

It just started doing it about 2 months ago. Anyone else notice anything like this??

TIA
Roland

Something else to check. See if your spare tire is loose at all.
