Question Front Wheels are canted

i posted this over in wheels but maby someone over here might know a thing are two. well buds got a problem or maybe not but here is the deal pickles. I’ve got a 97 f-150 with 132k miles and noticed the other day that my front wheels are canted with the lower part is canted outwards. I was just wondering if there was any concern ( I have noticed slight tire wear) or what I needed to do to have this fixed

Sounds like you mean slanted? I have no idea what canted means. Anyhow what you're talking about sounds like a cambur issue which would be fixed by an alignment.

v. cant·ed, cant·ing, cants
v. tr.
1)To set at an oblique angle; tilt.
2)To give a slanting edge to; bevel.
3)To change the direction of suddenly

Not knowing if you have a 2wd or 4wd , the 2wd's have a fixed plate for alignment if the 4wd's have the same setup I would suspect some front end componet may be going bad . Have a shop you trust check it out.

thanks CAP. I was just going to do that and give ole Mr. Webster a call. sorry for the complex wording of my question but being an engineering student that is the correct terminology for an object that is set at an angle other than 0 or 90 degrees. but to answer your question I have a 2wd and as I said being a college student it’s hard to find the time to put my truck in the shop but I was hoping there was a small adjustment that I could make on my own but if not off to the shop I shall go.
Thanks

I been using that term since I was a boy . I guess I learned it from my dad , he was a engineer.

My front wheels are canted, too. The one on the passenger side looks like hell, it eats the outer edge of the tire, because that part of the tire gets more traction than any other part, due to the way that the tire is canted. I'm going to have to get on that.

An alignment is usually cheaper than buying tires.

For real!
I am going to have to get one new BFG AT/KO after like 5500 miles. I think I knocked it out of alignment the day after I put the tires on, but it's slanted BAD. I am just waiting on payday so I can get her aligned.
