squeaking shocks.... grease?

I bought some monroe sens-a-trak shocks from sears and they sometimes squeak when I go over bumps (speed bumps). I called and asked about their waranty and they said that I need to grease the bushings so they dont squeak.

Anybody ever hear of this? I though the squeaking would come from the shock... the bushings are pretty tight, I dont see how they'd move.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Sal

Good question. I have the same problem and would appreciate any tips that someone might have. Mine squeaks like crazy every time I go over a bump...large or small. It's no big deal, but it is driving me crazy.

Yes, it is true, many times with after-market shocks the bushings need to be greased when installed or they can start to squeak. I have had the same problem. You can do it your self, just remove shocks, then the bushings, and cover them all over with a thin coat of dialectic grease, available at any auto parts store.
