the ride

The reason I was thinking about using keyways is that I dont want to put added stress on the torsion and also want to keep that F-150 factory ride..I may go bigger on the tires, but I really dont like that factory tail in the air deal. Whats everyones opinion?

I believe what he was saying that using the offset keys would do the same thing as cranking the existing ones. You would still be loading the torsion bars the same. Any lift gained by either is decreasing your downward travel, and I would assume stiffening the ride. I believe the offset keys just allow you to go higher than you can obtain with the stock keys, though I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time

keys

I put the keys on my truck.Yes it is the same as turning the torsion bars,it just lets you be able to trun them more.If you can turn the factorys up and level the truck,i would do that.In my case i could not get level.I installed the keys and could turn past level, but stoped at level. It stiffens the ride alittle, but my fx4 supercrew still has a very good ride.I had ford keys on my z71 for 20000 miles with no trouble.

Crank it up

I think I will take your guys advice and crank it up to see if it will level it out, if it will, great.., but then there is the 3" body lift I will be looking at next..., just before I get the tires.

The keyways will allow you to go higher than the stock keyways. If you can crank the stock keyways enough to get the lift you desire you do not need them. They definitely stiffen the front of your truck proportionately to the amount you tighten them. I put a set on my truck, and EASILY gained 2 inches over the fully cranked stock keyways. The ride stiffened alot, but does not bother me. There are a few going off on ebay in the next few days. Good luck everyone.

By the way, the victoria performance guy wants way too much for the keyways. You can find them for half the cost he wants for them, and why pay double for the same exact thing?

another option?

http://truxxx.com/ford_products/ford...0_lift_kit.htm Has anyone had any dealings with the TRUXXX product? It attaches to the strut so it doesnt effect the ride any? It seems like a good concept, but I cant get over why its so expensive
