NEED HELP! SWAY BAR bracket is sheered.

Got under my truck today to install my new Rancho Steering Stabilizer and noticed that my swaybar wasn't attatched on my driverside. The more I looked at it, the more it looks as if the bolt has just sheered right off. It had to of happened very recently, but I was wondering if anyone else had had this happen. Also, how important is the front sway bar, and how do i get the d@mn bolt out if one side is non-existent. Thanks guys.

Strange. I was working on my brakes this weekend and when I took off the drivers wheel, my sway bar wasn't attached to the lower control arm. I have no idea what happened to the endlink that attaches the sway bar to the control arm. I replaced it with the Energy Suspension endlinks, which are much better and about the same price as the stock endlinks. It's not a very hard job to do.

I just found the same problem on my 97 Expy. Was replacing the serpentine belt and noticed it. Beats me how this can happen. Searching for the endlinks now.

I did the same thing on our '98 Expy.
Not that hard a job.

Energy Suspension endlinks <---- Where do you get these? This is one instance where stock really does suck.

You can start with:
http://www.energysuspension.com/

The site will tell you that you get them from your local auto parts retailer, or mail order. I could not find any of my local retailers that sold them. I went with moog.

FWIW, most large chain auto parts stores can special order Energy Suspension parts for you. Bring them the part # and they will make the call.

I did that with the front bushings on my '99. Ordered them at a Carquest store and had them the next day.

Advance Auto Part's Web site shows them, but you can't get them from the store. They sell TRW. You can order the Energy Suspension from them on their web site however.

Strange setup. The Moog looks exactly like the energy suspension and they were 7.49 each at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

You can either call them and ask for a local dealer, or call Keystone Automotive 1-800-233-8321 and ask them for a dealer location for Energy.
