Traction Bars?

Any one have pictures of traction bars installed on a lifted F-150 with the U bolts on the rear axle facing up. I have 3 inch blocks and i think ive got axel wrap on acceleration and i need to see how they are mounted because my buddy could fab me some simple ones. I just need to know how and where they mount to the rear axle and frame, and if you know the kit from summet racing works for 60 bucks, tell me please. thanx all

I used these on my truck and they work well enough. There are a couple of little things I did'nt like. One was the fact that the rear standoff rubbed on the steel brake line once they were installed so I slid some silicone tubing over/around the lines to keep them from rubbing together, no big deal.

The other thing is that when the space between the eye of the spring and the bumper on the bars are adjusted to a proper gap they make a bumping noise when you go over bumps, especially uneven bumps. Other than that they work well for my little 4.6

I hope the picture comes out but if you look at the two standoffs that mount on the springs you'll see that they are tall enough to let the axle tube sit right over the bars. If you have 3" spacers the mounting standoffs will never reach the springs.

You'd better look for a different setup or make your own bars to clear everything with a little room to spare.

Good luck, I hope this helps you some.

I am not looking for the "slapper" style traction bars used for onroad racing, i am looking for the ladder type for off road use.

I think procomp and rcd makes some for lifted trucks. You might do some research for those and be able to find some pics.

I think L&L makes a real nice looking ladder bar. Try going to National Tire and Wheel, I think they sell them there.
