torsion bar help
Ok i've been wanting to raise up the front end. I know you can crank on the torsion bars to gain upto maybe 2" tops. Only problem is 1 screw is almost all the way in while the other is almost completely out. How can I fix this to where both screws are even and the front end is stll the same height?
Also does anyone know how much stiffer the other torsion bar options are? On my ford repair cd it lists about 6 different part #'s for torsion bars. I got the first set whatever that means.

I noticed the same thing on my old '97. It might not of been as off as yours, because I was still able to crank them up. I think the reason they might be off, is because of alignment issues. To keep everything even, they probably had to be adjusted that way by the factory. Not positive on that, but I'm sure it's why.
There are a lot of differences about your torsion bars that will affect the ride hieght. Rarely does the same amount of adjusment equate to the same/even ride hieght.
If you intend to get the most hieght out of them you can screw them all the way in, measure the hieght on a level surface. Most likely one side will be higher than the other. From there you can lower the high side to match the lower side.
Good luck.

I know I got to be carefull about going to much. I know that if you do to much it puts way to much stress on them. I just wanted to know about possible taking them out and re-installing them but with the screws out more but still keeping the height that it is now. This way i can possibly turn them in a bit and gain some height.
Also what other options of torsion bars are there? I know there are more then whats on my truck since I've seen 5 other part 3's.
