37 Inch Tires

I have a stock 2003 F-150 supercab 4x4. I am looking at lifting it in the near future. Most people talk about a 6" lift with 35" tires. But at the same time people on this forum are talking about stuffing 35" tires under thier F-150's simply by adjusting the torsion bars. This leads me to wonder if it is possible to put 37" tires under a 6" suspension lift. Does anyone have any information or know of anyone who has done it.

Thanks,
Brian

The secret to fitting 35's on a stock 4x4 seems to be in using a narrow wheel. Most people who fit 35's use the stock 17x7.5 inch wheels. I also remember seeing one member here or at FTW using an 8 inch wide aftermarket wheel with 35's on a stock 4x4. I would imagine that 37's and a 6 inch lift would be possible if you used a stock wheel or an 8 inch wide wheel. Personally I think 35's on a 10 inch wide wheel would look better. Also, the increased track width of the 10 inch wide wheels would help to off set the higher center of gravity that the lift will create.

Guy from Canada I think on the other site is running 37x12.50s on a 4" suspension lift. His screen name is Boseefus or something to that effect.
