Heres half my results on the Rancho RSXs. I installed the front 2 today bc it was too cold and too late to do the rears too. OMG what a difference! The front end glides over bumps and rides like a dream! I took a jug handle at about 40 mph and it handled great, no more body roll! The rear end hits bumps like a rock still, so those are my project for the weekend. Im extremely happy with the RSXs and recommend them to anyone looking for a great set of shocks for a good price.

How about the procomp 9000's? They seem to be very similar to the RSX's. they are having a buy 3 get 1 free deal till the end of hte year.

The Rancho RS9000X shocks are more expensive, but you do know for a fact you will be happy with the ride. The same has been said of the Edlebrock IAS, and Bilstien's.

I have some Procomp MX6's that I am installing on Saturday. I will then go out for our annual Christmas tree hunting trip and report back early next week. Maybe even a few pics.

Sorry, no pics yet but the MX6's worked GREAT. The install was the typical PITA but the ride quality is well worth it.
I have the rears set at full soft and the fronts set at 3 (middle setting) and the difference on the freeway is unbelievable. You really feel the difference when you get off road though. No extra motion, just good solid damping. And smooth. Reminds me alot of the Rancho 9000.

If you buy rancho, buy the 9000 series shocks. They are the top of the line ranchos but they are worth the extra few bucks. Personally, i'd go with a company by the name of Bilstien. They by far make the best shock 4your buck and the shocks should only end up running you about 60-75 bucks a piece. For a stock vehicle that is mostly driven on the road, I would go with the Bilstien 5100 series shocks, they ride amazingly smooth and last forever. They are also chrome plated and come with a black boot so you dont have to worry about tacky colored shocks under your clean looking ride. I have worked at several aftermarket truck accessory shops and have seen pretty much EVERY kind of shock that you can put on an F-150... i highly recommend the Bilstiens. Under no circumstances would i go with brands such as pro-comp, skyjacker, or edelbrok. The ride quality is medeocre at best and only gets worse through the shock's lifespan. I would recommend going to your local aftermarket truck accessory shop such as Four Wheel Parts Wholesalers (NOT KRAGENS!!). They carry the Bilstien brand. Hope I can help.

Do you happen to know what length of the Bilstein 5100 would go on a stock 02 Supercrew FX4? I know that getting the proper length is critical. My truck does NOT have any lift installed. I am running 35's with some cranking of the torsion bars but that should not affect the shock height.

I just installed the Rancho RSX's on my 02 Screw FX4 this weekend, what a difference they make, espicially on the front. The supposed Rancho's on the FX4 package suck. 24K miles and the tires were cupping already. BTW they have Motorcrarft embossed right on them...Nice Rancho sticker though. I paid $44.99 a shock and it's buy 3 get one free now at Summit Racing. About $150. for 4 delivered. The RT rear is the PITA to put on all the other 3 are a breeze.

Check out your idler arm, it's more likely you tires are cupped due to a bad idler arm than shocks.
