A little help please...

Hey, I have a 2wd Ford F-150 and I would like to turn it into a 4wd. I’m not wanting to do any hard core mudding with it I just want it to be 4wd. My question is how hard will it be? I’m not wanting to hear that it will cost way too much and that I should sell my 2wd and get a 4wd because that would NOT be cheaper since I got a great deal on my truck and can get a IFS front end or a SFA for cheap. Now back to the question, what is everything I will need? What would be easier the IFS or SFA? Remember I do not want to do anything hard core and the biggest tire I would run would be a 36”. I can get my hands on a front end for a good price as I stated earlier but how much would the T-case be and what kind should I get? Should I just find a used stock on? If you are wondering why I want to do this if I’m not doing any hard core off-roading the reason is because the 2wd will not take me the places I need to go every now and then such as farm roads. Thank you for your time and help…

I would go with the straight front axle if you are really wanting to do this. I feel that will be much easier.

look up "wrecked cars" on line you will get some websites that deal with wrecked truck that you can buy , that will give you all the parts you need... you may even consider puting your truck body on the 4x4 frame and selling the extra parts to pay for the job...

Thats a lot of work. And a lot of money. Too much work to do, just sell ur 2wd and go find a beater 4wd, that u can fix up and make it into a beauty. Save ur money on changing to a 4wd. I considered it, but theres just too many complications to really doing it right, and knowing thats its a quality job and that it will hold up.

It might actually be easier to convert a 2wd to a straight axle than it would be to do a 4wd.
