Post Supercrew drop

Has anyone done a 2-4 or 2-5 drop on their Supercrew? I just did the rear with 2" Belltech Shackles with the goal of leveling the stance. 2" wasn't enough, the rear is still a bit higher. I was going to do a full Belltech 2-4 but have read on this site that the Belltech shocks aren't the best and that it is best to use drop A-arms rather than just replace the coil springs with drop springs. If you've done a drop on a Supercrew, I'd like to know which kit you used and what it cost. Any info or advice would be helpful.
Thanks!

Crewzer, I lowered my SC 2"/4" using Western Chassis' kit. My truck sit perfectly level with the 2/4 drop. I originally used their 2" drop lower A arms but it would not work on the SC. For some reason the anti-sway bar mounts differently. So I returned them and installed 2" drop coils. I would not recommend dropping the front 3" using coils only because it leaves the vehicle with less than 1" travel with the stock rubber stops. I've also heard that the Belltech shocks (made by KYB) are not too good. I went with the Doetsch Tech shocks and am happy with them. My 4" rear drop came with a 6 degree pinion angle kit. It ended up being too much and needed to replace it with a 4 degree. If you install it yourself, good luck with the removing the front hanger bracket rivets. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Stylin'Supercrew - Thanks for the info. Did you need an alignment kit to realign your front tires? The reason I was going to do the A-arms is because I've been told doing a drop with just springs messes with the steering geometry. Have you noticed any problems? At this point, I'm thinking of just ordering the hangers and shims but I only need another inch or so to level the stance. I hear it's really tough to remove the factory hangers so I'll probably have a local shop do it. Only thing is, they want $300 to $350 for the Bell Tech hangers and install.
Thanks

Hey Stylin--I think I've seen your truck...is it the green supercrew? I've seen it at the bank and the local Ford dealer. I'm in the lifted toreador red ex cab 4x4, if you've seen me around. Anyway, nice rig.

Crewzer, You definitely need to install an alignment kit. My alignment shop told me the front-end geometry would not be greatly affected with only a 2" drop and the shop had no problems aligning the front-end. I have plenty of travel and it drives very well. You may want to check with Western Chassis to see if they have the 2" drop A arm available yet or contact DJM or Chassis Tech to see if they offer them. Be sure to confirm that they have been installed on a SuperCrew. If you don't have the proper tools to do the hangers, it's well worth the money!

Hello Z71Killer, My truck is a White with Silver trim Lariat. I'll keep an eye out for you and honk if I see you. I haven't seen the green truck or any lowered SuperCrews yet.

Cool

For a good Supercrew drop look at the April 2001 Truckin magazine on page 190. Its an adjustable air suspension.
