Post HELP WITH LOWERING!!!

I'm going try to lower my Expedition on my own. I have the coils, shocks, and front upper control arm cam bolts for adjusting later on. I was wondering if you guys had any advice with this before i start. I heard the front was harder. I need all info i can get, like: what i need to unbolt, how to take off the rivets, etc...anything and everything. Please, any input is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

lowering

First you need to take the shock off , then rent a spring compressor form auto zone or something. Use that to compress the spring. Then use a ball joint puller to pop the ball joint from the spindle. Once that is done all you need to do is put the new spring in. bolt up the ball joint back to the a arm, put the shock back in. As far as the cam blots all you need to do is unbolt the upper control arm and put the new blots in. If you can't get it let me know I saw you live n tampa. I live in orlando and I do a lot of this stuff. Hope I could help. Email me lowsinthe20s@aol.com

In the June issue of Street Trucks they have an article on lowering a F150 that might give you some ideas. The guy doesn't break the ball joints, he takes apart the other end of the control arms. They claim its faster and easier. I don't know, I had mine done at the local Ford dealer.

Exclamation Lowering

I wanted to do it myself too, but everyone advised me to stay away from working with the coils, they are way too dangerous if you are not sure what you are doing.

I went for the easy way, I just paid someone who knows how to do it.

My $0.02
