Post Front end popping

OK-Here is a couple for you...

The wife says her SCrew is making a noise while turning the steering wheel..Sure enough just barely turn the steering wheel and a pop is heard..It is transmitted through the frame on the right side...Take a look underneath and it appears to be coming from the idler arm...It was making a ruff sounding pop....

Looked at the zerk and it appears to have been greased..So I go further in and check the tie-rod adjustment sleeves lock-nuts and these were some what loose...

Still had the pop though,,I said it has to be the idler, sure enough squirt some grease in and exercise it and bingo the noise goes away...

Moral of the story, put some grease in those zerks and dont take anybody's word for it...

Same with my 2001 F150 SuperCab. There is a pop in the center of the steering travel, especially noticable when stopped or at parking lot speeds.

So is a "Zerk" the same as a grease nipple?
