2002 F150 SuperCrew Lift Kits

I have a 2002 Ford F150 SuperCrew 4X4. I love it but want to get some larger tires and a lift on it. looking at getting between a 2 inch to 6 inch on it. I do not want a body lift and will have about 3k to lift it. What is a good brand of Lift kit and what is the going rate for them. I have seen lots of lift kits out there but not that many for the 2002 4x4. That or I am just looking in the wrong places. Also how hard is it to put a lift kit on? Should I just bring it in to have put on? I am a Aircraft mechanic so I know how to work on stuff but dont have all the tool's equipment to do it maybe. On a side note what size tire would I be able to put on my truck once I put say a 4 inch lift on it?

thanks for the info,

Mt Hunter

The 6 inch Fabtech and the 5 inch RCD lifts probably are the two best lifts for the 97-03 F-150's. Both will allow you to fit 35 inch tires (35x12.50, 315/75-16 or 315/70-17) on a 10 inch wide rim. Suspension lifts for late model independant front suspension trucks can be pretty complicated. I wouldn't advise trying it yourself unless you find someone with experience to help you.
