If I remember correctly, the Rancho steering stabilizer is just an RS5000 in disguise. Can anyone back me up on this?

I've heard something similar to that. I heard that it is a specially valved shock to operate properly at that angle.

Yes a regular boot will work.

You cannot take a regular RS5000 shock and just use it as a steering stabilizer. You must use their special 5000 shock for that purpose. The steering stabilizer shocks are valved completely differently, to give the same amount of dampening either way you compress or extend it. This is very different from a regular shock.

------------------
'97 F-150 4x4 SC SB 4.6L. Riding on 265/75R16 AT's. ProComp 3000 shocks, and Steering Stabilizer. Add-a-Leafs and rear block lift, torsion lift. Side Bars and pushbar with dual Fog/driving lights. WMS Intake, Gibson SS exhaust and Superchip!

Wish list: 4.10 Gears, Hedman Hedders, electric fan mod, 3" body lift, 35x12.5 MT's!!
