Question Body Lift help

I am wanting to put a performance acessories 3 inch body lift on my truck but I have 2 problems. First of all I have the flowmaster tips, with the bumper raised (which musst be done) i will have to raise the tips. no big deal. the big problem is with my class 3 hidden hitch. when the bumper gets raised the hitch will be exposed. i was wondering if any of you have ever seen this and what is looks like or if any of you have a picture. leaving the bumper low and taking the hitch off are not options. any personal experience or pictures will be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Waldo

p.s. instalation included, how much did you lift cost? how much higher than a 4x4 are you?

At first, I didn't like the exposed hitch. But I don't mind it know; considering, the Chevys and Dodges are the same. I used some Duplicolor Bedliner spray on the hitch to prevent rust. Also relocated the trailer connector and added some backup lights.

Cool

Nope, it's the stock hitch in the original location. Getting the rear bumper aligned and drilling the holes is a pain. I had alittle problems getting the correct gap between the front bumper and grille assembly. So it's alittle tighter at the edges. Sorry, no website yet.
Here's a link.

Hey Waldoxxxxx,

Not only is the hitch and exhaust an issue,
you also have to concern yourself with the gap bewteen the bumper and the front tow hooks. Also, go look at the following Web page http://hometown.aol.com/squanto804/index.html

This is a great lookin truck but after the body lift, the front chassis rails are exposed just above the front tow hooks. I haven't seen anybody develop a "fix"/cover for this, but I think it takes away from the truck.

In addition, any type of frame mounted brush guard or nerf bars will need custom brackets so that they move with the body lift.

I thought long and hard about the body lift and decided that the 4" suspension was good enough. The deciding factor was that the house/garage I am buying will accommodate the suspenion lift but not both the suspension and body lift. Let me know if you go ahead with it. I would still like to know the difficulty associated with making the above mods. I guess if you know a good welder, you are all set.......
