2" drop for rear
For those of you who do not want to "slamp" your truck, but think the back end of your Screw is too high, this post is for you.
I just got done installing a pair of AIM-Industries 1-800-892-8789.
2" rear drop shackles $65.00 delivered.
It was very easy and the results are great. My truck now sits level. No big gap between the rear tire and the body. Here's a little advice on how it's done.
1. Loosen all rear shackle bolts while vehicle is on ground.
2. Jack up the truck enough to get the rear wheels off the ground. Place jack under rear diff, use jack stands under front eye of leaf spring.
3. Remove bolts that hold shackle to frame. (very important to do this first)
4. With shackles now disconnected from frame, jack up rear axle until the top shackle bolts clear the frame. This will allow the top bolts to be pushed out without butting into the frame.
5. To install new shackles simply reverse procedure.
Note: The factory installs these little metal tabs on the bolts that allow the assembly line to wrench the bolts with one tool. No need to replace these if you don't want to.
