torsion bars
Over the last several weeks, I have been adjusting my torsion bars to "soften" my ride. Thanks to the good folks at this site, I have learned a great deal. My pre-owned truck had a very stiff ride when purchased. If there was a dime in the road, I could tell you the date on it after driving over it! Maybe the previous owner visited this site and wanted to raise the truck. To make a long post (sorry) short, the ride is much quieter now. I'm out about three turns from when I purchsed the truck. I may go another, run it for a few days, tweak it, then take it in for an alignment. The added benefit is that the truck looks closer to level at rest instead of sagging in the rear! Keep up the great commentary guys!

Naw, you don't really want to be like us guys. We spend wayyy to much money on out trucks, just because some other guys on this forum did it first!
Interesting you lowered the fornt, whereas most guys here want to lift the front!! I notice a lot of Expys seem to sag in the back, and it never looks good. What do Expys have in the rear for suspension? Air? Coils?

JimW - My Expy has the four corner Load Leveling Suspension (LLS). At rest, the truck lowers itself for easier access. The rear height sensor, from what I have read, controls the height and attitude (front to back) of the truck.
Have you been satisfied with your WMS velocity tube? The intake will be my first mod and I'd like to keep the stock airbox. For now, I have a K&N drop-in. Removed the "snorkel" into the fender last night. Little if any difference. Any modifications to the fender well required with the WMS?

I like it- I really don't notice a huge difference in performance, but I would think anything is better than the plastic OEM acordian tube. I went with the WMS tube for several reasons: the dealer is relatively close to where I live, I get down to Calgary every couple of months, and picked it up personally. The steel mandrel bent tube looked very good. It was cheaper than most other FIPK kits. You don't have to disassemble the MAF airbox to take out your MAF. It still allowed air to come in through the side hole, meaning cold air sucking in, not warm engine compartment air.
The older WMS tubes had the vaccuum tube holes in the wrong spots, requiring modification of the tubes hooking on to it. I've seen the re-designed tubes, and they look much better. The WMS kit uses a rubber tube about 2.5 inches in diameter between the filter cone and the fender hole. It just sticks on where the tiny snorkel fit over, and uses a hose clamp to tighten down. The rubber tube is just the right size to fit in the fender hole. It just sits in, there is no seal provides around the space. It is really not needed, however, because of the fairly close fit.
