Getting Blocks Today
BigBadRedLiftedFordMan-
Did hit 4" lift block replace the stock 2" block with the bump stop horn? I did a custom add-a-leaf in the back of mine, and it lifted my sagging springs up by about 1.5 inches, I did the torsion tighten and added about 5. inches on the front. My truck sits now ever-so slightly nose down, or level, depending on how you look at it. I like the nose down tilt on a 4x4, unlike most guys, and want the back end on mine higher yet! By 1 or 2". I don't want to add another leaf to destroy my ride, so I guess blocks are the answer. If I know how a block works, then I would know what kind of height to get. Does the 4" block replace the OEM 2" block, or does it somehow fit with it?

The 4" block replaces the standard 2" OEM block. This does mean you'll lose the bump stop horn. There is a way to stack blocks but i havent heard of anyone recommending it because they can shift on top of each other and they give to much which can result in total failure- bad news to come while driving on the highway, ya know? Anywayz, its easy to do, thats why i am thinkin of doin the lift...i'm only afraid that the back will be too tall with 2 more inches...i guess we'll see...

A friend of mine had 4" blocks on his 97 F150 but he just sold the truck and took the lift off along with the blocks...he sold em to me for $50 with Ubolts and everything...looks like i'll be re-adjusting my torsion bars slightly more soon...
I'm also lookin at a custom aluminum skidplate that he has...about same size as stock but more obvious and better looking...anywayz, he wants $100 for it...so i'm lookin into that.

I would like to do the same thing, perhaps with 3" blocks. I know the height of the truck at the fenders, that's how I knew how much my add-a-leafs added for height. I am then going to take a floor jack on a block and just jack up the rear end exactly in the middle under the hitch, enough so the height to the bottom of the fender cutouts is exactly 1 inch taller, then do this again so it will be 2 inches atller than the current height. I will do this above the fender, because that is where the blocks go. The very back of the truck will actually be slightly higher yet. I am going to stand back and see how the truck would look with my imaginary lift blocks installed. This may be a good method for you as well, you can see if you like the look of the new 4" blocks or not, and all that tilt from the back end.
I would seriously think about putting new bump stops in place, they are there for a reason. They provent over-articulation of the suspension, which protects stretching brake lines, u-joints, etc. If I go ahead with this, I would also probably install a new really large poly bumpstop from the frame ( in place of the small rubber one) to get the approximate same amount of travel limit. I realize that the lift kits do allow for greater articulation, but it is good to put some kind of limit on the travel.

BigBadRedLiftedFordMan-
I just got ProComp 3000 shocks, and ProComp 3" lift blocks! I have to get u-bolts made up, but when I do, I will replace the stock 2" block. As for bump stops, I will probably buy some ProComp 4 inch polyurethane bump stops. They are very big, about 2 by 4 inches at the base by 4 or 4.5 inches tall, with cutouts to give them some shock absorbsion.
I figured that an extra inch on the blocks, along with the 1.5 inches of lift I already had from the extra leafs and approx 1 inch from the torsion lift would look about right. Just enough rake to be very noticeable and different.
