Bilstein Shocks...Good or Bad?
I saw that the shocks that came with the RCD lifts were Bilsteins. I have always heard good things about them, but i have also recently heard that they are just like Pep-Boys Monroe shocks with a Bilstein sticker(I think thats what they called them) I know many people on this board have RCD lifts, so besides the yellow and light blue color :-/, how do you like em? Any comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
If it makes a difference, Edelbrock recommended Bilstein to as a great alternative to theirs. I had a shock dealer tell me that for any heavy duty driving, the Bilsteins are the way to go, over Edelbrock simply because Edelbrock tends to deteriorate a little quicker under extreme conditions.
Of course I've got a 2WD tank that stays on the road!
By the way, Mercedes has used Bilstein on their cars for a long time. I've had about 12 over the last 13-14 years and of course that's not much of a comparison to a truck, any one of them would take the baddest dirt road and smoke it.
