Broke my truck!
I was doing a little light offroading yesterday and when my truck landed after jumping over the top of a hill i heard a pop but didn't think much of it. When i got home the truck was sitting a little low on the drivers side. I looked underneath and it turns out i snapped a rear spring shackle in half. The end of the springs are up against the bottom of the bed of the truck. Luckily it hit a crossmember so it didn't dent the bed. I was just wondering if it was a combination of rust and me beating on the truck that broke it or did my suspension lift put more stress on the shackle. If the lift did it i will replace the rest of the original suspension parts so i don't break anything else.

Jon, if you would have had that spark plug in your tailpipe (or gas tank) that you asked about, it would have been a much better show when your truck left the ground while "doing a little light offroading". And you would not have to worry about the broken spring shackle. First car? Do they have an automotive class in your school? LOL
Actually i am still working on that spark plug in the tailpipe thing. Turns out they actually sell kits but not for EFI engines, they run too clean. I'm working on an idea for propane injection into the exhaust in combination with the spark plug.
