Question Any luck with Rancho RS9000?

I am looking to get new shocks for my 4x4. Has anyone out there installed the Rancho RS9000? If I do get a set I will get them without the remote. How are they to adjust without the remote? Do the 5 settings make a big difference? I don't do to much offroading mainly dirt road and highway.

Thanks in advance.

I just installed them two weeks ago. They are very easy to adjust, just reach under and turn the ****. It took me about 3 hours to install after work because it got dark and I was using a flashlight. The settings are defined. Well worth the money.

Thanks!

Has the ride improved big-time over the stock shocks?

I put a set on the front and it was a night and day difference. The settings do make a difference. I had some heckethorn shocks and the 9000's are so much better.

Much better than stock! Bounce is gone and not as much body roll. I am using #3 setting. Tried #2 but roads are too rough around here. Still better than stock though. I haven't had too much time to play with comparing settings. You can not go wrong with them!

Cool

The adjustment is great to play with and set "your own" choices. Once you find a satisfactory front setting, the rears are real quick/beneficial for heavy loads.

Thanks for all the great comments guys!

Do you normally keep the front and back settings the same?

The RS9000s have 14 stage internal valving in addition to the 5 stage initial settings you can choose from. They have a much larger shaft than most other shocks out there. Also included are urethane bushings in them.

For around town, I run F-1 R-1. That is full soft. When I tow the boat (2000lbs) I adjust the rear to setting 4. 3 was not enough and 5 was too much.

All you have to do is get under the truck in the rear and the adjustments are right there. Takes about 30 seconds to do the rear.

Check this page if you want more technical info on them: http://performanceunlimited.com/illu...ancho9000.html

You will not be disappointed in them! Plus you can add the air adjustment at ANY time to them. be sure to get the unit that has seperate front and rear settings
