Question Why do same lifts look different?

I've been looking at different trucks and their lifts trying to decide how high and what brand to go with. However, i'll look at one truck and say "I'm definetly goin with that" but look at another with the same lift and want to go bigger. I know this seems like a dumb question, but it makes it hard deciding on a lift. Example, i saw a 4x4 w/ a 4" ProComp Suspension and a 3" body w/ 39's...it looked HUGE, then i saw another 4x4 4" susp/3" body w/ 35's
Am i not seeing something?

Well, tire height makes a difference. A 39" tire is 4" more than a 35" tire and therefor, the truck sits 2" higher with the 39's. So no, there is no difference between the lifts, but the tires make the difference.

Not all brands of lifts level the truck. Some keep the nose lower than the rear. A lot of guys crank their torsion bars that will make the front higher than the rear. The only other real noticable difference is how the front is lifted....either ball joint spacers (TM) or replacement spindles.
