Basic Rear Schock Question
Basic Rear Schock Question
Have a 2002 5.4 4x4 Screw...I have to drive it on the HWY over semi crappy roads about 60 miles a day. I would be interested in knowing what kind of rear shocks you all recommend to reduce "axel tramp" that seems to be a condition of the stock package.

Any of the adjustable shocks out there are nice and will let you set the stiffness to your preferance. Rancho has the new RS9000X shock that gives you 9 levels of control. They also offer a remote in-cab system so you can adjust on the fly. Either it's no big deal to turn 4 ***** ( considering you replace all for shocks). Right now I have the older version which is only 5 position but they couldn't be better. I run setting 3 up front and 2 in the back, I hardly ever tow or haul so I don't adjust them much.
Also out there is the Pro Comp MX6's much like the Rancho's only built a little different they offer 6 levels. Then you have the Edelbrock IAS shocks these work great on 2wd's and do good on 4wd's as well. Great handling shock. Then if you want to go the cheap route get the Monroe Sensa-traks which are a good handling shock and run about $35 a piece. Not sure what Bilstien has to offer these days but they are a great shock too. If the sky's the limit get custom set of remote resivour shocks from someone.
