Question Edelbrock or Rancho???

I need shocks for 99 F150 2wd. I am considering Edelbrock IAS and Rancho RSX.
I heard of problems with Edelbrock IAS, noisey, mounts breaking. I welcome your input.

gcole,
the rancho shocks are good. i've never owned the edelbrock's, for me, they are a little high. i have always had great luck with bilstein, just to make your choice a little tougher. lol. good luck, Rich.

Cool

I just took the Edelbrocks off my truck, and put the 4" Rancho on with the RS 5000's. I really like the Rancho's better, plus they cost about $40 to the $80 Edelbrock's.

Thumbs up

After having edelbrocks on for about 1500 miles now and not noticing a difference at first they are worth the cash!!
Have a buddy with rs9000's on his f-150 and after riding in his you wouldn't believe the difference that I can tell!!!!! Might be costly but well worth it!!! Just my opinion!!!!

Cool

The RS 9000s aren't that much more if you hunt a sale down. Cheap upgrade for the lifespan vs additional cost. Excellent to firm the rears up during heavy loads/towing.

Angry

I just added some edelbrocks this week and as far as I can tell, very little diference in the ride. Maybe it's just me! I was able to get them a little cheaper then the 9000s.

I just installed Edelbrock IAS on my Expedition and the difference was like night and day. Tremendous improvement. I can't figure out what noise would anyone complain about. The mounts are part of the truck not the shock.

redex :
The noise with the Edelbrocks are a clicking noise. As for the mounts breaking, I am talking about the round part with the rubber bushings at the bottom and top. They have broken loose at the weld.

I just went and jounced the front and back the little I could and I don't hear any noises, I tried listening when driving but I don't hear anything.
If you had a failure of a weld then that should be sent directly back to the manufacturer. I guarantee you'll get a completely new set and they won't make any noises. Good luck.
