Question Power Steering Fluid???

On the top of my power steering reservoir it says, "POWER STEERING FLUID" and "DO NOT OVER FILL". When I look in the owners manual, it says to use Mercon transmission fluid in the power steering fluid reservoir.

If I remember correctly, the top of my '99s res. said "USE MERCON" or something to that effect. I wonder how many "lube jockeys" have mistakenly put power steering fluid in instead of Mercon when they topped off the fluids.

Cool

I hope not many. Ford has always traditionaly used Mercon ATF for power steering and Chevy Dextron for it. Pretty basic, but then again......
