Exclamation Fabtech Warning

Anyone thinking about buying the Fabtech leveling kit for your F-150 beware.I bought
the kit for my 99 EX-CAB and found out after
the kit was installed the alignment could not be set correctly.Fabtech said I should
not expect to be able to get the alignment
back to factory specs. After having several
front end mechanics look at the problem all
concluded the only way to solve the problem
is to install aftermarket upper control arms.Fabtech insists nothing is wrong.

In fairness to Fabtech, I feel the need to post this reply. Apparently, what you discover depends on who you talk to "at Fabtech"... When I was first thinking about lifting my truck, I looked at the leveling kit as an option also. I actually called Fabtech direct to ask about that system and was told they did not recommend it because of a design change in the coil pockets after the 97 model year. Told me right up front that alignment would be a problem! They then proceeded to up-sell me to the control arms setup with the alignment cam kit included. More money for them? Yes sir, but I'm very happy with the deal and the info I got from them! Had the whole setup on for over 6 months now and no problems, other than some slight squeak if I forget to lube avery couple months!

No, I'm getting a little better than that... usually between 12.5 - 13.5 mpg around town and about 15mpg on the road. Not great, but I can live with it. When you calculate your mileage are you factoring in odometer difference due to the bigger tires?

Talked to two people at Fabtech, both said they had not heard of anybody having problems
aligning their truck with this kit installed.
After reading your response it is clear they
lied.Anyway I bought control arm from Chassis
Tech to solve the problem. They are also coming out with a 3" lift spindle in about 3
weeks. They said the price would be $249.
After talking to both companys Chassis Tech
by far the better place to buy a lift.

Cool

Chassis Tech/AIM quality is not that good. (Remember you usually get what you pay for.) The last time I bought spindles from them, the bearings wouldn't fit on the spindle shaft. Also, the last time I will ever buy from them.
