Well guys, the search continues for a decent price on a spindle lift installation. Everywhere around here is still about $1,200 for the Fabtech 3" spindle and rear block lift. 4WPW has a place in Orlando about 2 hours from me so I called them. The first guy said that a ProComp lift installed would be about $750. He said that Fabtech is having problems with algnements on their lift and said that he is not allowed to sell them. When I called back 2 days later, I was told that the Procomp lift is now $1,200 and that Fabtech has not corrected their problem. It looks like I am destined to pay $1,200 + alignment for any kind of lift around here. Anyone else heard anything about the Fabtech problem? The tax refund check would just cover the lift and alignment. Is that a coincidence or what!! I think that it is a sign! Bluefish97

sorry to hear about your obstacles Bluefish, I thought for sure that your next message since the last time would be a pic of the finished product...

I haven't heard of any problems with Fabtech and the spindles, but I have heard that the leveling kit has its alignment problems..

I have the 3.5" spindles and my truck is perfectly aligned. How far out of your area have you called? Sounds like the only alternative now would be to make a commute somewhere to get it done, or do it yourself.

Thanks DGreen. I have not checked EVERYWHERE yet, it just seems like it. I don't have a decent place to do it myself or I would. My driveway is slanted like a boatramp and just not safe to jack. I got a pal that has a good place but no lift, just floor jacks. Do you think it could REALLY be done on a slab with a couple of jacks? We both have the ability, both of us used to turn wrenchs at a dealership. Favorite tool= the "blue tip" wrench!!!

You can get 3" lift spindles for $249 at http://www.truckn.com The web page says 299
but they told me they would be ready in 3 weeks and the price would be 249.

 

Fabtech has fixed the problem with their spindle. They found out two weeks ago and they are letting local retailers know and are sending out non defective ones. I have a set of bad ones on my truck and hope next week it will be fixed.
