Angry Torsion Bars

Has anyone received any satisfaction from Ford on why Torsion Bars are breaking? I just got back my 1998 F150 XLT Ext Cab from the dealer after replacing the driver side torsion bar that broke with 50K miles. Back in Feb 1999 I had the passenger side bar break at 12K miles. Go to the NHSTA web site and see how many torsion breaks have been reported. NHSTA stated there isn't enough breakages to warrant an investigation.
