Cool Gear Ratio changed?

I have a question for every inch of tire you go bigger than your stock ones what does it do to your gears. Like say I put on 18" tires with my 3.55Ls what will it be changed to thanks?

It depends upon the height of the sidewall of your tire... check this link out. http://www.dakota-truck.com/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html

18" tires! WHOA! are you running like 5 series rubber or something?

The smallest tires you will find on a 16" wheel is around 24-26" tall.

Now if your are talking wheel size, how does that matter? It is not the wheel that determines the height, but rather the tire.

Browse most any tire manufacturer's website for the size of the tire. Like http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com

Here is a link to a spreadsheet I did online to help figure out your gears:

Gear ratio is independent of tire size. It is the number of turns the driveshaft makes for each turn of the rear wheels. Increasing overall tire (not wheel) diameter has the same effect on speed in gears as lowering the numerical ratio. What tires are you running now and to what tires are you planning on changing?
