What is a spindle lift?

I've seen a few threads around talking about spindle lifts (and some nice pics to boot!). Would someone care to explain to this noob what a spindle lift is and how it may be different from others? Thanks in advance.

This is a spindle. You will find it generally located behind both front tires. One on each side. All a spindle lift does is moves the center of where you rotor mounts down say 3.5 inches thus giving you 3.5 inches in lift. or something like that! Ive only done a spindle and body lift so nothing to compare it to.

Question Spindle lift?

Brent,
Did the handling of your truck change at all with this kind of lift. How do you lift the rear to matck the 3 1/2 on the front. I know these trucks are 4 wheel disk but you dont have spindles on the rear do you. Maybe Im not thinking right I dont know. Main thing I wanted to know was if you were happy with the lift and what you have in it greenback wise.
Thanks, Ryan

The handling of the truck was almost the same but the ride changed. Although I dont know if it was from the body or spindle lift. A little bumpeir but that probably normal when you lift a truck and slap bigger tires on them. You use 1.5" blocks and U-bolts shown in picture on the back for a even look. No spindles on the back. Overall I was happy with the lift for a couple months and then decided it was too much of a hassle getting our new baby and the wife in and out. Dropped it back down. Body lift is definetally cheapest way to go. Then comes spindle lift and so on.

This is with the spindle and body lift.

Lowered back down with new tires and rims. Much better ride and gas mileage.

Wheels for sale

Brent,
How much are you looking to get out of those wheels? The tires arent exactly what Im looking for at 33" but Im not exactly sure what size the BFG's are either. Those probably wouldnt fit on my truck without a lift would they? I was looking for 17" wheels does Eagle offer these in 17"? Let me know about the wheels, by the way were are you from?(Shipping costs)

Thanks, Ryan
