Post just wondering

If i ever do sell my truck and buy a 4x4, What size lift would be needed to fit some 35x15.50r16.5 on 16.5x12 inch wheels? could i fit it with something like the 5inch rcd lift with the torsion bars cranked up an inch or so.

You'll need to add a 3in body lift on top of the suspension lift to eliminate any rubbing.

I Think y2kboti is a little off. On F150 4x4's all you need to run 35's is the 3" body lift. Not in addition to the 5" suspension lift. There are quite a few guys here running that setup

With a 3" body lift or 4" suspension lift you can run 35x12.50 tires.

With the wider 15.50 tires there, you will need some fender trimming in the front on the bumper. But should fit.

Matt90GT,
to run 35x12.50's all you need is a 4inch suspension lift( procomp,trailmaster,rancho...). My queston is if you started with the rcd 5inch suspension lift and then cranked the torsion bar another 1-2 inches could you fit the 35x15.50r16.5. It seems that if with 4inches of lift 35x12.50 will fit, then with 6-7inches of lift the 35x15.50 would be fine.
Correct me if im wrong but that makes since right.

You can fit the 35's alright, but when you put anything on over 33's, especially 15.50, you run the risk of screwing up your axle. There is too much rubber on the ground. You should think about a straight-axle conversion for that set up.

I'm not guessing. A guy I know has a 5in Superlift and a 3in body lift and under full compression his tires rub. He is running 36x14.5 M/T.

JDm,

I have a 5" RCD and a 3" PA body lift. My 315's fit fine. No rubbing whatsoever.

I can't see anyway you can fit 12" wide wheels. My 16x10 w/4.5" backspacing have less than 1/2" clearance from spindle. That and there is roughly 2" clearance from A-arms in full turn with 315's.

15.50's are just too wide for a truck that is driven every day anyway. They don't look very good either. 14.5 is plenty big.
