RCD creaking
I recently had the RCD lift installed on my SuperCrew and have a anoying creaking noise coming from the RCD blocks and cross-member. The bolts are tight and I can not fiqure out how to stop the creaking. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what did you do to fix the problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
The kit is very nice. The Bilstein shocks make for a very nice ride, not too stiff. As others on the list have noted, the ride is better than stock. The truck looks great and has gotten positive remarks. The only issue I have is the damn creaking noise. I went with Pro Comp AT 305.17/r16 tires and am happy with them too.
Try this test......spray some silicone or white lithium grease into the four areas the torsion bars go into( 2 on the rear crossmember and the left and right lower arm up front) soak it real good. If the noise goes away then its at those spots, but unfortunataly they really need to be taken out and greased with something like axle grease and reinstalled. Mine was doing the same thing and this is what I had to do. Have not had the problem for over a year and a half.
Hope this makes some sense, if not let me know and I'll try to explain it a different way.
