Right now my axle is crooked...my local 4x4 shop took one look and said its been "torqued"...i'm gettin it checked out tomorrow...i just wanted to see if your problem is the same and what you did to fix it...thanks...

Nice truck, it kinda looks like mine. I think we have the same problem. 4x4 guy said that the u-bolts weren't tightend correctly. The welded plates on your axle where your blocks and wedge sit, well mine rolled up onto the top of welded plate where there is a 1/2" gap. There is so much pressure the wedge is actually splitting in half down the middle and oozing out the sides of lift block. Instead of drive shaft being lined up nicely it at a V and rolls to accomidate what I'm doing. It goes into the shop Tuesday the 6th. He's going to reset the axle, put new wedges in that are bolt al the way through instead of split and slide in, which he thinks what the guy who put the lift in did. So I hope that this fixes my problem. It almost sounds like half of yours slipped. Hope my info helps. Check to see if you have any gaps at all where your blocks are.

dgmenace,
How bad is a "little" rubbing?
The reason I ask is I am trying to determine the largest tires that will fit without moderate rubbing. I've been looking at 38x12.50's.
P.S. No problems noticed with axle rolling. I just had my plates flipped to accomodate trac bars, though.

Big D 98,
It's mainly when I have to crank a hard left or right, but I don't have any wheel well walls at all so my engine is exposed to everything. The guy who owned it before might of taken them out cause it rubbed bad but with out them it's only hard turns mainly parking spots or when I have to make a U-Turn. You might ask some of the other guys because I can't be for sure without wells.

dgmenace,
Why only 10 mpg? It is because of the 4.56's (and the tires).
I got 17-18 before lift. Now, get 14-15. Sometimes 16 on highway.
