Shock Replacement & squeaks
I'm getting ready to replace the original shocks on my 96 F150 4x4, and was wondering what you guys recommend for Brands/types. It's just your basic everyday driver that I use to pull snowmobiles, haul a small camper, & misc other items(gravel, cement, rocks, etc). I don't think I want real heavy duty shocks, but a nice all around setup. I have the quad suspension up front, so will be repacing all 6 shocks.
Also, the truck has started squeaking. I have found that I can temporarily stop it by spraying the rubber bushings in the suspension with WD-40, but am wondering if anybody knows how much it costs to replace the bushings & how hard it would be (ie. a kit or something).

I replaced the shocks on my '99 4x4 with Rancho RSX's. I love them! They reduced body roll incredibly.
As far as your squeaks, check the suspension arms that go from the front (near the wheels) and attaches to a bracket on the frame towards the middle of the truck. This was a very bad set-up by Ford, the ball and socket on the bracket has a rubber bushing, with time, this rubber bushing squezes out, and causes squeaks. My brother had to replace his on a '93 4x4.
