Post Aftermarket 7700 payload group?

This might seem like a stupid question but I was wondering if you could get the 7700 payload group as an aftermarket option by Ford dealers. Also do the rear springs look alot more beefed up then regular sized F-150? If anyone has pictures of there trucks with 7700 payload group could you please post them. Thanks

It has brake, frame, suspension, wheels, etc. upgrades and is not likely to be an aftermarket product.

Honestly, it's probably not worth the extra $$. The F250 LD and F150 (7700) have more leaf springs, the 4R100 trans., 3.73 axle, those stupid 7 lug wheels, and worse gas mileage. I'm not sure about the brakes or stiffer frame.
If you want to stiffen the rear, I suggest maybe some new shocks, extra leaf springs and Hellwig sway bar.
I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

Kenwood 7007 CD, Alpine 3342 Signal Processor, Alpine MRV-F353 5Ch. Amp, Pioneer TS-A6865 3-way speakers, MTX Thunderforms. CompuStar alarm/autostart. On the way: Performance Accessories 3" body lift, 33/12.5/17 ProComps, GSP grille guard or PIAA airdam.

What if I got leafs beefed up to 3/4 ton. Would my frame be able to hold that much weight?

Not exactly an answer to your question, but pertinent nonetheless.

No matter what you do physically to your truck, it's GVWR will still be whatever Ford said it is. Legally, exceeding the weight rating is bad. If you need "more" truck, it's my recommendation that you buy a bigger truck. It'd probably be cheaper than piecing one together anyway- especially if you were in some kind of accident while "overloaded". Just a thought.

I added an extra leaf to my f-150. I have a 98 and feel that these trucks are beggining to be more of a family vehicle than a TRUCK. The only reason I added the leaf was to cure the problem of having the truck squat when I added my cap and towed a trailer. I hate that look. Like noted before, just because I added the leaf, it doesn't mean I can put more weight in it. But, when I have 1500 pounds in the back of my truck now, it sits level, and not down in the rear.

I haven't gotten my truck yet but know that the GVWR is 6300. Im not sure what my payload cap is but I would think like 1500 to 1800 lbs? I think its Payload group 3# but not positive? Hey by adding one leaf did it cause your truck to look a little awkard in rear?

The 5.4 came with a payload package on the 2000 truck rated at GVWR-6050,payload-2020. Mine had GVWR-6600,payload-2385. Both of these puts your payload at over 3/4 of a ton. At the very least, there are several available springs from Ford or the aftermarket.

No pics, but it looks like any other F-150 except the steel chrome 7 lug wheels and the camper on back.

Dave, have you ever looked at the Ford brochure on the 7700 payload package? If you haven't you need to! About the only thing thats the same of an F-150 is the body, the rest is pure F-250 spec! It discribes what you get. www.ford-trucks.com has a spot where you can pull all the #'s you need for the F-150.

Be weired I think you are refering to the truck sitting to high in the rear right? When I take my cap off, doesn't happen to often, and empty the rear of the truck, it does look a little funny. Without the cap or weight in the bed of the truck, I would guess it is about 2 1/2" higher in the rear. With my cap and 500 pounds in the rear, it sits about 1" higher. If you are not going to be putting any weight that will stay in the truck, I don't know if adding a leaf is the way to go. You will also notice that the "ride" of the truck will become more TRUCK like. Its all personal decisions.
