How hard is it to change shocks?

I have a 98 Expedition 4x4 with the load leveling suspension. I just ordered new shocks for it over the internet and I was wondering how hard is it to change the shocks? The Naval Air Station I'm stationed at has a car repair bay complete with hydraulic lifts and all the tools you would need to repair a vehicle for us to use. The only thing is I'm not very good with the mechanical side. Is replacing the shocks easy or should I just take it to a local repair shop?

not that hard to change shocks but be real sure you first disable the load leveling suspension. Otherwise your truck could suddenly inflate and fall off the rack. And generally speaking, 4x4 suspensions are more difficult to work on than 2wd. i suggest you go to a shop for the repair unless you get a manual and an experienced friend to help
