Thumbs up Body Lift Installed

Hey everyone

I finished installing my body lift and it looks bad a$$. I did it by myself and it took me about 18 hours with stopping for meals and breaks. I probably could've gone quicker, but I wanted to take my time and make sure I followed the instructions to the letter. I also had one bolt that didn't want to come out. It was the drivers side front floorboard bolt. I messed with that thing for two hours before I finally coaxed it out of there. It feels good to accomplish a project like this. Anyway, new wheels and tires coming in the next couple of days then I will snap some pictures and post them. I want to thank everybody who answered all of my questions both before and during install. Thanks everyone.

Question

Help! I am stuck at the same point you were, Lok N Load, but mine is the passenger side front cab bolt. The rubber bushings are spinning when I turn the bolt head. The air tools aren't helping either. How do I hold the rubber so I can get the bolt out? Thanks.

Scarecrow

I finally worked the bolt loose enough that I coulf get a pair of vice grips onto the metal tube with the threads in it. They kept it from spinning. I had to go to the dealership this morning and get a new one because I had to keep on tightening the vice grps and I stripped it. Keep on working at it, you'll get it.

Question

Lok,

Do you have a part number for the piece you bought this morning? I think I am going to take a sawzall to that rubber and metal thing. It started spinning almost immediately after I loosened it about 1/4 turn, and I can't get it to stay still at all now.

Scarecrow,

I can't seem to find the part number on the box I got. I just walked in and told the service guy what I needed and he looked it up on an exploded diagram and got it for me. He said they just happened to have some of those body mount bushings in stock so I might have just gotten lucky. Good Luck.

Cool

Just out of curiosity, for anybody who has installed a body lift, where is that little wheel under the dash to adjust the gearshift indicator? I have looked all over under there and can't seem to find it. My indicator is just barely off, but it would be nice to center it. Thanks

I'll see if I can fit myself and my camera under the dash tomorrow and snap a picture of mine for you. Maybe this will help ...

Wink

Nitrox,

Sorry...I forgot to post that I found the adjustment wheel. I just wasn't looking hard enough.

Jupiterak,

315/75-16 if I can find some 16" wheels for a good price, or 35/12.50-16.5 if I can find some 16.5" wheels. Whatever the wheels, it will be 35" tires.

Thank you both for looking at the pics.
