Question Daystar 1.5" spacers

For those who have read past posts of mine, yep here's another question. I'm seriously considering the coil spring spacer. I used a jack to raise the truck to simulate what it will be like and there's not a whole lot of down travel left for the upper A-arm. If I do this, will I "Top-Out" (opposite of "Bottom-Out") my suspension often? Has anyone out there grinded down the bump stop on the upper A-arm to regain some downward travel. I just don't want to be slamming the upper A-arm down on the stop on every bump.

What is wrong with spacers? They seem to be popular on lifted vehicles. I can imagine that tall ones could be a problem, but what's wrong with the short ones, 1"-1.5"? Just curious.

Nothing's wrong with spacers as long as they aren't the cheesey things that wedge between the coils like they sell as some auto parts stores. I've had the Daystar 2 inch spacers on my Grand Cherokee since 2000 and love them.

Because they are ghetto, that is why...

It's the same as some ricer going out and cutting off a few coils or heating the springs... just plain ghettofied!

There is nothing wrong with using the Daystar spacers and it is not the equivalent of anyone heating coils.

without getting new upper a-arms you will have a problem with alignment and tire wear. I asked a buddy of mine at a suspension shop and this is what he told me. You get the upper a-arm to get the alignment withing spec and to keep the suspension geomerty in line. If you have a 4X2 just go and get the 3.5" lift spindle and be done with it.

I guess Pyro's **** dont stink either.

Nothing wrong with spacers. I used them on mine once I had 1200 worth of rims and tires that wouldnt fit after a spindle and 3" body lift without major trimming. They worked so well that once I get a new truck I already know that I'm doing a spindle lift, body lift and those daystar spacers. Oh BTW I had no problems with tire wear.

Nice site... I come in here and get flamed for liking to do things right instead of the half *** way. My bad.

One of the reasons I left this site way back, before most of you even heard of it.

Guess Ill go back over to the other site, where people do things the right way.... Sorry for coming in here and giving a little insight on the right way to do things....

Just some more insight bodylifts are crap and are dangerous. Blocks decrease performance (added leverage = more wheel hop) and spacers are ghetto ... thanks

Tell you what, Pyro; if they start offering a 1"-1.5" spindle lift, then maybe I'll look at it. But I don't want 3"+ of lift. I just want a small amount, to level off the truck without dropping the rear. Daystar coil spacers or 1" lift coils will do fine for me, thanks.

And maybe people wouldn't "flame" you if you didn't come off like a rude SOB. While remaining equally effective, your opinion could more politically be stated, "A spindle lift would be a better/safer/more proper way to lift your truck. If you save up and get the spindle lift you'll be happier with your product in the long run."

Have you seen a truck with the 3" spindle lift on them? I have just the 3" spindles on my truck and it pretty much looks level. yeah the front is about 1/2"-3/4" higher but it does look level. To each their own as they say. Good luck with whatever you do.
