which lift looks better?
i'm really new to the whole truck thing so sorry for my ignorance. but i was just wondering what lift do you guys prefer or which looks better? a 3" spindle lift? or 3" suspension lift? and out of curiosity with the 3" suspension lift does it reveal a lot of the frame? does it do the same with a spindle lift? thanks a lot.
Spindle or suspension lifts do not reveal frame, body lifts do. With the first two you move up the entire vehicle up. With body lifts you just move the body over the frame, thus creating the space between frame and body.
But we are lucky that body lifts for our 97-up models do not reveal as much frame as GM's do. In my case almost all the frame is blocked by the cab steps.
And just in case no one told you, welcome to the boards.

thanks for the welcome and the response, i had actually meant body lift not suspension lift in my question but your reply helped regardless. i'm pretty positive i'm just gonna go with like a performance accessories 3" body lift...would you really reccomend getting those 3" superlift blocks with it to? do i have to replace anything after i do it? (and sorry so many questions but i swear this is the last one) did it look funny with the stock tires in place? i've been to your webpage and your truck looked pretty sweet and all, but you know, sometimes things are different in real life.
Just get the body lift...the blocks are for the back only ...if you put the blocks on you will also need to lift the front about 4-5 inches......DAVE

I posted pictures of before and after the lift in order to be able to compare with the stock and the new tires. Having a lifted 4x4 with stock tires doesn't happen everyday.
The look that I really like is not in the web page yet. The 3" blocks are a personal preference. There are a lot of aftermarket products to level 4x4's and 75% of the F150online.com members want their trucks level. Or maybe a taller front. I don't. I prefer the taller rear stance like the stock stance. And I haven't take any shots yet. I was looking for the 2" blocks but they were out of stock. So I got the 3" instead. I will post pictures later, maybe next week.
And I really like my truck more in real life than in the pictures. I've been unable to get good shots, but that will do for now.

Just remember that rear blocks will create a great deal more axle wrap than lifting with springs. While you may not really notice this on the highway, once you are in sand, or on a rough road...... it will really show itself. Also, they are rougher riding, and to nothing to increase wheel travel.
Now, I don't know if you guys are putting larger tires on the vehicle for looks only..... or are serious about off-roading. So, the wheel travel comment may be totally out of line here.
Anyway, just my .02

I don't do serious off roading.
Next step for me in the new year and after the gear swap will be the suspension lift with add a leaves, and if necessary traction bars.
